Dr. Ali Shekarchian, DVM, CVA
Hospital Owner
Dr. Shekarchian, who you may know as Dr. S, graduated vet school back in 2000 from Tehran University. He loves pets and chose to become a veterinarian when he was only 3 years old! His goal has always been to provide the best quality of care for animals. He managed to bring his dream alive in the Summer of 2012 when he opened the doors to Happy Tails. He planted his roots here 2004 in Colorado after meeting his lovely wife. Dr. S stays busy at home with his 2 sons Mohammad and Noah, his daughter Laila, his 2 pups and his kitty. When he isn’t at home with family, or in the clinic providing quality medicine he is up in the sky flying planes. ​

Dr. Beth Cohen, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Cohen has been an amazing addition to the Happy Tails Family! She brings a lot of caring and compassion and enjoys being able to help owners navigate the best options in care for their pets. Dr. Cohen is from Upstate New York and obtained her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Ross School of Veterinary Medicine. She has lived in Colorado since 2009. She takes advantage of the outdoors whenever she can when she is not hard at work providing the utmost care for her patients!

Dr. Meaghan Bos, DVM
Medical Supervisor

Dr. Bos is a true Colorado native, originally born in Monument. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and earned her bachelor's degree in wildlife biology. She then spent two years working for the Colorado Division of Wildlife as a field technician. She spent her time trapping sage grouse, relocating elk, and monitoring migration patterns of bats! As exciting and challenging as this was, an internship position in Dallas, Texas lead Meaghan to a career in Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree while attending Ross University in St. Kitts and completed a year of clinical training at Colorado State University. Dr. Bos has a strong interest in internal medicine and Radiology. Meaghan and her two cats are so happy to be able to live and work in Colorado where endless biking, snowboarding, and mountain adventures await!

Michelle Hudson
​Practice Manager
Michelle helped Dr. Shekarchian open Happy Tails and has since devoted her time and energy in making sure things run smoothly and clients are happy. She strongly believes that in order to be truly successful, client satisfaction, exceptional quality care to the patients, and ensuring health and happiness are the key ingredients. Michelle graduated from Bel-rea in 2001 and has been working hard in the field ever since. When she is not devoting herself to the clients and patients, she is enjoying her free time with her husband and two teenage children. She has a senior boxer name Saphira and cat named Spice. Michelle also enjoys hiking and anything that requires her to get in the water. Michelle is currently pursuing her passion to become a Certified Practice Manager in order to provide nothing but the best to her clients and their pets.

Michelle Quinn
Administrative Assistant, CVT
You'll get to know her as Quinn. She has been a part of the Happy Tails family since 2013. She graduated from Bel-Rea in 2007 and earned her license to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is great at what she does and gets along really well with clients. Quinn was a surgical technician with Happy Tails for several years before becoming involved with the administrative side. When Quinn isn’t working on all the important behind the scene duties here, she is spending her time with her husband, 2 boys, and her daughter. If she didn’t already have a house full of dogs and cats she would happily add more to her family. Family is so important to her and she makes it a priority to always have a home cooked meal.  Quinn is a huge football fan and will not hesitate to cheer on her Cowboys.

Heather Kenley
​Client Care Representative

Heather has been with Happy Tails since 2014. Although Heather was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she has had the chance to live in several other states, and decided Colorado is just were she had to be. She has played an important role in working closely with all our patients and their owner’s. Heather makes it a priority to ensure everyone leaves with a smile on their face, which isn’t hard to do with her sense of humor.  When Heather isn’t answering phones and processing much needed medications for your pet, she is at home spending time with her husband and 2 boys. She loves cooking even if that means the kitchen gets a little messy. She also loves the challenge of a good puzzle.

Katie Herion
Client Care Representative

Katie has joined our team as a Client Care Representative. She was born and raised here in Colorado. has an absolute love for animals and anatomy so hopes to work towards becoming a Veterinary Technician, and maybe one day, a Veterinarian and open her own Practice. She loves to travel, play games, tell jokes and draw in her free time. She has spent her life around animals and loves all pets big and small, from horses to guinea pigs.

Kristy Flores
Client Care Representative
Kristy was born and raised here in Colorado. She hopes to be in Law School working toward her goals in progression of animal welfare right and laws. She always strives for a better future for herself and her pets. She also has a goal of going to Africa and being able to work alongside Conservation foundations in hopes of one day starting her own Conservation. She loves traveling and being outdoors snowboarding and she is working on her scuba certification.

Adam McNeely
Veterinary Technician

Adam earned his CVT license after graduating from Bel-Rea school of Veterinary Technology. He has been with Happy tails since 2017 and plays an important role in the Happy tails family when it comes to patient care. Adam who is a born and raised Coloradan doesn’t see himself moving anytime soon.  Adam is our go to guy when we need help lifting or restraining the bigger dogs. His goal is to learn as many skills as possible. You may have seen Adam in the front working alongside the receptionist or alongside the Doctor during your pet’s exam. In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time wood carving, wood burning, and keeping his eyes sharp out on the shooting range.

Jennifer Gunter
Certified Veterinary Technician
Jennifer is a Veterinary Technician on our team and we are so happy to have her. She is a Colorado native as she was raised in Wheat Ridge. She previously served in the United States Army in South Carolina and San Antonio, TX. She graduated from Bel-Rea School of Veterinary Technology. She holds a passion for anesthesia and the complexities of running and interpreting lab work. She loves to learn and is always looking for more education when she can. One day, she hopes to gain her Masters degree in Chemistry. When she’s not at the hospital, she enjoys going on hikes, painting, drawing, and finding new parks to explore.

Jenny Esparza
Veterinary Technician
Jenny is a new addition to the Happy Tails Family. She holds her Veterinary Assistant Certification and recently graduated from Bel-Rea where she earned her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has always had a passion for working with animals for as long as she remembers. She began shadowing Technicians, and knew immediately that she wanted to be a Veterinary Technician. She is from California, but was raised here in Aurora. She has goals of international travel and to eventually get her Specialty in Nutrition. She enjoys walking her dog Bella and exploring new outdoor adventures.

Renee Murphy
Veterinary Technician

Renee is originally from Farmington, New Mexico. She started off volunteering for a rescue and became the Director for Colorado Puppy Rescue for 13 years. She then decided to make the awesome decision to go back to college and earn her Associates Degree in Veterinary Science to become a Veterinary Technician. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has a dog named Buster she loves dearly. She wants to continue working with animals and making a difference in the community. She loves to cook and can make a mean peanut butter chicken. She also enjoys playing soccer and football.

Megan Ryan
Veterinary Techncian
Megan has been with us since 2017 and we are so thankful to have her. It is no wonder she has so many tips and tricks when it comes to your pet considering she has been in this field for over 11 years. She makes it her mission to ensure your nervous pup or kitty is comfortable during their visit with us. Meg embraces all our feline and exotic patients with open arms. She is passionate in promoting a fear free approach for to patient care. If there is a bunny, Guinee pig, or kitty patient here for a visit you can anticipate Megan is going to be eager to see them. In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and house full of fur babies. When Megan isn’t guaranteeing your pet’s comfort she is at home expressing her artistic side with arts and crafts.
